Sustainable Compressed Wood Pallets made from waste!
When it comes to sustainability the story doesn’t get much better than the Compressed Wood Pallet. Manufactured from 100% waste material in the form of wood chips, the pallet not only provides a cost-effective and environmentally friendly shipping solution, but utilises a by-product of the timber industry.
When manufacturing timber products, waste fibre is created at every step along the value-add process. AXIS now provides a market for this material – providing a cost-friendly alternative to wooden and plastic pallets. All this value delivered without compromising the ability of the pallet’s main purpose.
Used timber packaging products including wooden crates and pallets can also be recycled. Thanks to modern techniques such as de-nailing with magnets and industrial grade shredders this material is no longer destined for landfill.
The Composite Wood Pallet manufacturing process is clever but simple. Using specifically designed mould tools, the waste material is compressed under force and heat producing the one-piece pallet. Thanks to smart nestable and stackable designs the pallets are then efficiently stacked, ready for shipping to our customers throughout Australasia.
Our range of pallets are available in many sizes and designs. Our export range for example, are designed for sea containers, optimising space, and load ability. The nine pod feet enable the pallet to be picked up by forklift or pallet jack from any direction, which is a real bonus when loading and unloading.
- Common export footprints include: 1100mm x 1100mm & 1140mm x 1140mm.
Due to the contoured top deck this pallet range is perfect for shipping bulk products in Bulk Bags. The bulk bag and its contents settle into the void space in the pallet providing added stability.
Other popular designs include our “New” Australian footprint pallet rack pallet. Developed for AXIS, specifically for the Australian market, this pallet is not only 1165mm x 1165mm in size but also fits into standard in-beam pallet racking.
Thanks to our nestable designs, empty storage and/or return logistics are both space and cost effective. The pallets fit neatly into one another and are easy to separate by forklift. Depending on the design anywhere from 1100-1400 units can easily fit into in a 40’ high cube container.
Custom sizes are also available and are surprisingly affordable. This is made possible because of the relatively low cost of a compression mould tool when compared to plastic pallets and injection moulding. This creates an opportunity to develop a purpose built Compressed Wood Pallet, engineered to suit your customer requirements.
